Terms of Service

Effective August 23, 2026 · Last updated August 23, 2026

These terms govern your use of Someone. By creating an account, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

1. What Someone is

Someone is a private phonebook and Ask app for the people you actually know. You post Asks to a trust tier you choose (Close, Trusted, or Known); people in that tier can raise a Hand to help. There is no public content — everything is scoped to the circle you define.

2. Your account

You sign in with your phone number via a one-time passcode. You're responsible for keeping access to that phone number secure — anyone who can receive your OTP can access your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

Minimum age. You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use Someone. By accepting these Terms you confirm that you meet this requirement. If we learn that a user is under the minimum age, we will delete the account.

3. Raising a hand is giving your word

Raising a Hand on someone's Ask is a commitment to follow through if you're accepted — not a maybe, not an offer to "discuss it." Don't raise a Hand you don't intend to honor. Reputation on Someone (Words, vouches, and flags) is built on people keeping this commitment.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

5. Platform role & liability

Someone facilitates connections between people who know each other (directly, or through someone they trust). We are not a party to any arrangement made between users, and we are not responsible for the outcome of, or any dispute arising from, real-world interactions, favors, or exchanges between users. You interact with others at your own discretion and risk.

The app is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law.

6. Your content

You own the content you post — Asks, Words, photos, and everything else. You're responsible for it, and you grant us only the limited right to store and display it to the audience you selected, so the app can function. See the Privacy Policy for how your data is handled and how to get it deleted.

7. Flags & account actions

Users can flag an Ask or another user if a commitment wasn't honored or the platform was misused. Repeated, credible flags may result in account suspension. Severe violations — fraud, harassment, impersonation — may result in immediate, permanent termination without notice.

8. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account; this immediately and permanently removes your data (see the Privacy Policy and the account deletion page for details). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date; continuing to use Someone after a change means you accept it.
